ROTARY AVENUES OF SERVICE AND FOUNDATION
Rotary International’s “Five Avenues of Service” are the foundation upon which Rotarians build their efforts to serve their communities and the world. These avenues guide the organization’s activities and focus areas:
Club Service: Focuses on strengthening fellowship and ensuring the smooth functioning of Rotary clubs. It includes activities like organizing meetings, maintaining club administration, and promoting member engagement.
Community Service: Involves projects and activities that improve the quality of life in the local community. Rotarians identify community needs and work on projects that address issues such as health, education, poverty, and infrastructure.
Foundation: The Rotary Foundation is the charitable arm of Rotary International, dedicated to advancing world understanding, goodwill, and peace through the improvement of health, the support of education, and the alleviation of poverty. It funds a wide range of projects and initiatives that align with Rotary’s mission to make a lasting impact on global communities.
International Service: Promotes understanding, goodwill, and peace among nations. This avenue includes efforts such as international humanitarian projects, cultural exchange programs, and partnerships with Rotary clubs in other countries.
Vocational Service: Encourages Rotarians to serve others through their professional skills and adhere to high ethical standards in their businesses or professions. This includes mentoring, providing career guidance, and recognizing the worthiness of all useful occupations.
Youth Service: Focuses on empowering youth through leadership development, education, and service projects. This includes programs like Rotaract, Interact, Rotary Youth Exchange, and Rotary Youth Leadership Awards (RYLA).
The Five Avenues of Service and Foundation provide a comprehensive framework for Rotarians to make a positive impact on their communities and the world.
